Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question?
Here are the most commonly asked questions our patients ask!
-
What Conditions Do You Treat? We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal and physical conditions, including back pain, sports injuries, joint problems, post-surgery rehabilitation, and chronic conditions like arthritis. Whether you are recovering from an injury, surgery, or managing a long-term condition, our physiotherapists are here to help you achieve optimal mobility and health.
-
Should I Book A 30 or 60 Minute Appointment? The appropriate length of your appointment depends on the nature of your condition and your individual needs. For most patients, a 30-minute session is sufficient to address their concerns and provide effective treatment. However, if you have a more complex issue or are experiencing significant pain, a 60-minute session may be more beneficial. Longer sessions allow for a more comprehensive assessment and treatment, reducing the likelihood of post-treatment soreness and catering to those with longer recovery times.
-
What Should I Expect During My First Appointment?During your first physiotherapy session, your physiotherapist will conduct a thorough assessment of your condition. This may include reviewing your medical history, discussing your symptoms, and conducting physical tests to assess your range of motion, strength, and overall function. Based on the assessment, a personalised treatment plan will be created to target your specific needs.
-
What Should I Bring With Me?It is always helpful for our therapists if you bring a pair of shorts and a well-fitting top. Bring any medication you feel may be relevant for your first appointment and any documentation regarding any investigations you may have had.
-
How Many Physiotherapy Sessions Will I Need? The number of physiotherapy sessions required varies for each individual and depends on several factors. These factors include the complexity and nature of your condition, how long you have been experiencing symptoms, and your body's unique healing and recovery process.
-
Do I Need A Doctors Referral? In most cases, you are able to self-fund or self-refer through your own insurance company. In some instances you may need to see a GP or Consultant prior to physiotherapy and may need them to refer you. We work closely with most major insurers and consultants in London and the surrounding areas.
-
What If I Need A Referral For Imaging Services? If your condition requires further investigation, we can provide referrals for various imaging services, including MRI, X-ray, and ultrasound. These imaging techniques help us gain a better understanding of your condition, allowing us to tailor your treatment plan more effectively. Our team will discuss the best options with you and ensure you receive the appropriate referral for your needs.
-
Do You Accept Health Insurance?Yes we do, we're covered by most major health insurances such as AXA, Aviva, Cigna, WPA and Bupa. Some of these offer a cash back plan where you may be able to recoup the costs of your treatment from them, upon provision of a receipt.
-
Do You Offer Shockwave Therapy?Yes, we do offer Shockwave Therapy as part of our treatment options. This non-invasive therapy uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate healing, reduce pain, and improve mobility for various musculoskeletal conditions, such as tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and chronic joint pain. It’s a safe and effective solution tailored to your specific needs. You can learn more about understanding shockwave therapy and book a consultation appointment with one of our physiotherapists by reading our blog here.

Can Physiotherapy Help With Sports Injuries?Yes, physiotherapy plays a key role in the treatment and recovery of sports injuries. Our sports physiotherapists specialise in diagnosing and treating injuries related to physical activity, helping you recover faster and prevent future injuries. Common injuries we treat include sprains, strains, fractures, and overuse injuries. You can find out more about how physiotherapy can help with sports injuries by reading our blog here.
-
Can I Continue My Regular Activities During Treatment? This depends on the nature and severity of your condition.
